Summary
Czechoslovakia had a Democratic tradition, but in 1968 Alexander Dubcek became secretary of state. He gave people many more rights including the right to freedom of press, assembly worship, as well as his famous "Socialism with a human face". This movement threatened communism, so troops from several other Russian satellite states moved in and arrested Dubcek, and replaced him with a Russian puppet leader named Husak.
