Summary
The Great leap forward was Mao Zedong's Economic plan that was designed to greatly increase the economy of China. The country was divided into 28'000 communes, and they were all told to created a certain amount of product. some of the main factors of this plan were to have great industrial and scientific activity, to use muscle power to build anything, rather than machines, as well as having small communal factories. Famine became a huge problem, and upwards of 30'000'000 people died during this time. It was a terrible time for China.
