Summary
The united States recognized the republic of China(Taiwan) as the real China all the way until the 1970's. Taiwan held one of the permanent seats in the United Nations Security Council. There was Diplomacy created between the USA and China after the Ping Pong team visited in 1971. The US still supported Taiwan's bid for independence, even after they lost their security council seat in 1971.
