Summary
Mao Zedong led his red army on a 9'000 km retreat across the whole of China. He lost there quarters of his army, but managed to stay in tact. They settled in The northern province of Shensi, and formed the Ye-nan Soviet. The CCP Began to gain power due to there resistance of the Japanese, and Koumintang was soon more worried about fighting them than fighting the Japanese.
