Summary
The fall of Germany started with the Battle of Normandy, in the summer of 1944. After this came the Falaise Gap, as well liberation of Paris. Operation Market Garden was an American plan to end the war before the Russians got to Berlin, by getting there first. The battle of the Bulge was the German counter-offensive against the Americans, but it failed and the American's pushed on. The Russians reached Berlin first, and attacked and took over the city. Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his bunker in Berlin, as the Russians were attacking.
