Franklin D. Roosevelt was an American statesman and politician that served as the 32nd president of the United States. He was serving during the great depression, and did many great things to try and help his people. These things included introducing many new policies, and trying to bring the level of unemployment down. perhaps his most famous policy introduced was the "New Deal". it was designed to give people more jobs, and to improve the economy. He created work projects to provide jobs, some of which included the Hoover dam, and many major interstates. He greatly improved the unemployment rates with all of these building projects. Franklin Roosevelt was one of the key men in getting the United States of America out of the great depression.
Some of the main reasons that the stock market crashed in 1929 were The buying on margin, and the agricultural recession. Buying on the margin was when people would go to the bank and take out money to invest in stocks. Then they would try and make all the money back and extra, so you can make a profit. The agricultural recession was when there was overproduction of goods, so the farmers began to struggle and looked to banks for help. I was quite happy when i was earning money in the stock market game.
There were many social changes in America during the 1920's, caused by different economic and political factors. Many people started to get much wealthier and began to purchase things. this resulted in women also being able to purchase there own things, which made a lot of things change. Women's rights was brought to attention and women were also allowed the right to vote. This all happened because the economy was very strong, and the stock market was doing really well. The voting was a political change, because it opened up the option of a completely different outlook on society. women think much differently then men, and it would provide a different opinion. The assembly lines creation as well as Henry Ford's car manufacturing changed the way people socialized as well. People began to base there socializing around their cars, often just going on long drives, or spending time showing off their vehicles. These re just a few of the ways that America in the 1920's changes socially, because of politics and the economy.
Cinderella Man is a movie, based on a true story, about a man named Jim Braddock, who was a Boxer in the 1920's and 30's. He went through a very tough time when he couldn't win any fights, and he broke his hand. Jim also suffered during the great depression, and struggled to keep his wife and three kids safe and happy. He eventually got back into boxing and was very successful,
