Leonid Brezhnev was a Soviet leader, who led Russia from 1964 to 1982. it is believed the made the Brezhnev Doctrine famous, which stated that it was the right and duty of the fraternal socialist countries to intervene if any other socialist country was threatened. He implemented this in Czechoslovakia in 1968.
