Motives Of The USA
Notes
- President Woodrow Wilson Led the American delegation
- Submitted the 14 Points
- Had a plan to rebuild Germany on democratic terms
- Wanted self determination for most of the European countries
Summary
President Woodrow Wilson of the United States led the American delegation at the Paris peace conference. He submitted the 14 points to his colleagues, which was intended to stop any world war from ever happening again. He wanted Germany to be rebuilt on Democratic terms, so that the country would run more smoothly. One of Wilson's other plans was to let almost every European colony have Self determination, which meant that all cultures would live separately from each other, in their own countries.
Quote
"For we all desire the same thing. we desire before all to lift from the shoulders of humanity the frightful weight which is pressing on them, so that humanity, released from this weight, may at last return joyfully to work." - Woodrow Wilson in his opening speech at the Paris Peace Conference

Subjunctive Question
What would have happened if the USA had never proposed the 14 points? would there have been another world war sooner?
