The big three consisted of three men who represented different countries who took part in the first world war. Their main aim was to decide how to deal with the defeated axis powers. The men were David Lloyd George (UK), Georges Clemenceau (France), And Woodrow Wilson (USA). The group was originally the "Big 4" as Vittorio Orlando of Italy was a part for a period of time. Things ended with the Italians when they decided to join forces with the Germans and their axis partners. These men wanted to ultimately stop a war so large from ever happening again. They planned to put the Germans in so much debt that they could never cause a war again. unfortunately the Big three each had very different motives and planned actions, so it took much longer than intended to come to an agreement. the Fontainebleau memorandum produced by George Lloyd eventually brought the big three to an agreement that they thought would keep the world at peace forever. The league of nations was also founded because of the Big Three.
